Get certified to use the library's longarm quilter!

Join us in the MakerSpace to learn the basics of our longarm quilter! In order to use the machine for your personal projects, you must first take this course!  

Materials You Need to Bring with You:

  • Two squares of 100% cotton fabric, ironed and cut in sizes:
    • 36x36 inches 
    • 30x30 inches
  • Batting cut to size of 36x36. This should be cotton or blend of polyester batting 
  • Scissors for thread cutting

The fabric pieces you bring will be used to load on the longarm frame for your practice to stitch with the machine. Please do not bring batting with 2 inch loft, and please do not bring sheets, denim or upholstery fabric.

Important Notes:

  • Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as you will be standing during the class.
  • You will be scheduled to train with one other person.  If you need to cancel, please let the library know as soon as possible so the spot can be opened to another patron.

After you are certified by one of our trainers, you can register to come and work on your own projects with supervision from a trainer. 

We have quilting supplies for sale in the MakerSpace. You are welcome to bring your own supplies -- they must be approved before you will be allowed to use them on the machine.
